Karan Nagrani is a 36 year old disability advocate from Western Australia. Karan is going blind as a result of Retinitis Pigmentosa. His very rare form of this degenerative genetic disability has also caused hearing loss.
In just a short amount of time, using social media, Karan has had a massive impact on the lives of those who live with vision loss across the globe by creating resources that have never been created before. Using graphic design and film making skills from his successful Marketing career, Karan shows us how the world is seen by people with vision loss, literally.
Karan’s work has been noticed and shared by organisations like Blind New World, Retina International, Hearing Health Foundation and more, as well as the Australian media. Karan is dedicated to helping people understand that Blindness is a Spectrum.
Karan is also a proud member of the LGBT community and is proud to represent gay people who live with a disability, a minority group within a minority group, that doesn’t have much of a voice.
We wish him all the best!
