Congratulations to Isaac McInness – recipient of the 2025 Blind Australian of the Year – Youth Award

Isaac is an exceptional young Australian whose courage, perseverance, and compassion have inspired his school and community. Despite living with significant vision loss, Isaac approaches every challenge with determination and positivity.

At Eastern Fleurieu R-12 School, he is known for his adaptability, academic excellence, and leadership. His passion for learning—particularly in mathematics—is supported by his proactive use of assistive technology, showcasing both innovation and resilience.

Beyond the classroom, Isaac is an accomplished athlete, competing in blind golf, tandem cycling, athletics, and air rifle shooting, earning medals at state and national levels. As Club Captain of Little Athletics and a dedicated Venturer, he leads by example—encouraging others through teamwork, empathy, and service.

Isaac’s achievements, humility, and unwavering spirit make him a true role model for young Australians and a deserving recipient of this year’s Youth Award.
