Karan Nagrani Returns to the Blind Australian of the Year Awards Gala

We are delighted to announce that Karan Nagrani, better known as That Blind Guy, will be returning to the Blind Australian of the Year Awards Gala to host our exclusive VIP Red Carpet experience.

Karan is a renowned disability advocate, keynote speaker, comedian, and one of Australia’s most influential blind content creators. Recognised on the world’s top blind influencers list for three consecutive years, Karan has built a loyal following through his engaging, informative, and highly entertaining social media content.

Guests attending the Gala can look forward to seeing Karan bring his signature humour to the stage, performing highlights from his sold-out comedy special, From Grindr to Blindr. His unique ability to combine comedy, advocacy, and storytelling has made him a sought-after speaker and performer across Australia.

A familiar face at the Blind Australian of the Year Awards, Karan previously served as Master of Ceremonies in 2024 and 2025. This year, he’s back once again to interview guests on the red carpet and ensure the evening is filled with plenty of laughter and memorable moments.

Joining Karan on the VIP Red Carpet will be the incredible Julie Goodwin – beloved MasterChef winner, cook, author, and television personality. Julie will participate in the exclusive VIP Meet & Greet before taking to the stage as the Gala’s keynote speaker.

The 2026 Blind Australian of the Year Awards Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday, 10 October at the Royal on the Park Hotel in Brisbane. The evening will celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of Australians living with blindness, while raising vital funds to support the community.
