Meet the 2026 Blind Australian of the Year – Individual Award Finalists

Link Vision is proud to announce the three finalists for the 2026 Blind Australian of the Year – Individual Award: Jamie Garlett (Western Australia), Megan McLoughlin (South Australia) and Sarah Freeman (South Australia).

The Individual Award recognises a person who has achieved an exceptional level of excellence in their chosen field or made an outstanding contribution to Australian society. It celebrates individuals whose achievements demonstrate excellence, innovation, creativity, perseverance and courage.

Jamie, Megan and Sarah each represent the remarkable talent, leadership and contribution of Australians living with blindness and low vision. Their achievements demonstrate that vision loss does not define or limit a person’s potential to make a meaningful impact in their profession, community and wider Australian society.

Congratulations to all three finalists on this outstanding achievement.

The 2026 Individual Award recipient will be announced at the Blind Australian of the Year Awards Gala Dinner on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at the Royal on the Park Hotel in Brisbane.
